If you don't see a major or minor that you're interested in on our list of programs, we have an option for you! You can create your own flex major or minor in collaboration with your faculty advisor(s).
The flexible curriculum option allows you to develop a major and/or minor tailored to your interests and career goals.
I have a flex major in visual communication for the performing arts, so it combines 平面设计 and theatre arts, which are two things that I am passionate about and want to pursue professionally.
Examples of flexible curriculum majors and minors
There are no restrictions to the major or minor that you want to create for yourself. Here are some examples of majors and minors that other students have created for themselves.

How do I design a flexible curriculum major or minor?
Propose a major or minor
Work with your faculty advisor on what major or minor to propose, including a list of courses that will be used to complete it.
Explain your goals
Prepare a statement about how your proposed major supports your educational and/or career goals. For individually designed programs, you should articulate how your choice of courses will provide a cohesive, in-depth study of the subject matter.

Complete your proposal form.
Secure your advisor
Obtain the signature of the faculty member who will be your advisor for your major or minor.

Your proposal form must be submitted no sooner than the first term of your sophomore year and no later than the first term of your senior year.
